CosmoClub Discussion Format
Subject: Cosmological parameters, galaxy formation, CMB, dark matter, dark
energy, black-holes, cosmic-rays, inflation, early universe, variation of
fundamental constants, high redshift universe, nucleosynthesis, etc...
Level: Technical, but not too specialized in any given topic. Audience: Students, postdocs and faculties interested in Cosmology. Duration: Less than 60 min. Setup: The main activity is to discuss the latest articles that appear on arXiv.org on topics related to cosmology each week. Typically each participant picks a paper and gives a short, a few minutes, presentation of the paper of his interest/curiosity. Location: The CosmoClub is run jointly with researchers from other institutions in the Barcelona area. It alternates between the campuses of UB (www.ub.edu) and UAB (www.uab.cat), which is held at ICE (www.ice.csic.es) in Bellaterra. |
