PhD Thesis 2007 GWIC Prize
The Gravitational Wave International Committee (GWIC) announces its 2008 Prize for an outstanding PhD Thesis on any field of Gravitational Wave research. Eligible theses must have been accepted by the student's Institution between 1-Jan-2007 and 31-Dec-2007. Candidates to the Prize must be nominated by 15-Jan-2008. The Prize will be presented during the LISA Symposium. The award comes with a $1,000 USD cheque for the winner. Also, the winner's Conference fee will be waived.

The GWIC has awarded the the Thesis Prize 2007 as follows:

Affiliation: Department of Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Title: Development of techniques for quantum-enhanced laser interferometric Gravitational Wave detectors.
Supervisor: Professor Nergis Mavalvala
Professor Guido Mueller, from the University of Florida at Gainsville, will make the official GWIC announcement during the Symposium.
